Kumeu & Henderson Wine Areas

Kumeu and Henderson form the West Auckland wine region. A large number of Dalmatians settled in the area in the 19th century, starting the first commercial winemaking industry in New Zealand. A wide range of winemakers and wine styles are present, providing a good cross section of New Zealand Wines.

Hobsonville House is ideally situated to explore both the Kumeu and Henderson wine areas. In particular, the Kumeu wineries are approximately 10 minutes travel by car.
