WHO ARE WE AT HOBSONVILLE HOUSE ?
We Love to travel using Bed & Breakfast's
We are a couple that love to travel, to take in all that different cultures are, and to participate within where it is possible.
We have travelled through many countries in Europe and the East. When travelling we love to stay in Bed and Breakfast accomodation, in doing so we have met many wonderful people and wish to extend the same hospitality to travellers to our own country.
Our Early Wanderings and Travels.
Anne is a Early Childhood Teacher and Greg is a Structural Engineer. Our Professions have allowed us to live some years outside of New Zealand. Firstly, Australia for a couple of years, and subsequently Papua New Guinea, where we lived for some years, sparking our interest in Melanesia.
During this time we travelled extensively throughout parts of Asia.
And then there were Children.
There comes a time were we all have to settle down for a while, and usually the catalyst is children. We have three children who have all just finished at university and are commencing their own travels.
During this time Anne and Greg owned Businesses in their respective fields, and while this has tied us down we have travelled with the children to a number of European and Asian countries. It has been important to us to show our children the wider world to broaden their outlook on life.
Our Involvement in Vanuatu.
Introduced back to Melanesia by Anne's sister and husband, we travelled to Vanuatu initially in 2004, which rekindled our interest in this region. Soon after a property outside of Port Vila was invested in and after some years of development, "Sanddollar - Holiday Accommodation" was borne. Take a look for your next pacific holiday:-
Subsequent to this we have become involved , helping a community on the island of Tanna, with their travel accommodation and island tour venture. For a holiday you will remember, and an introduction to a culture you will treasure take a look at :-

The start of Hobsonville House B&B.
Hobsonville House was started three years ago, with a single bed and breakfast room (Pukeko's Rest). Since then, it has taken on a life of its own as we have become more well known, and demand has increased accordingly. Because of this we have put more time and energy into Hobsonville House and have been delighted with the results.

We have spent the past two years renovating more of Hobsonville House to accomodate guests. Anne having recently finished an Interior Design Course has infused a 'Pacifica' theme throughout. This has included the recent design of a number of bespoke furniture pieces and supervision of its manufacture in Vanuatu.
Hobsonville House Bed and Breakfast now has expanded to five bed and Breakfast Rooms, each with its own unique perspective. All include modern contemporary bathrooms, and extra effort has gone into providing comfortable beds for our guests. We look forward to seeing you here.
